In traditional supply system, suppliers and manufacturers operate independently. But in an effectively coordinated supply chain management, manufacturer, supplier, distribution channels and customers are linked in the form of a chain to develop and deliver products as a single organization of pooled skills and resources. Higher the coordination and responsiveness in the supply chain greater will be the success of the supply chain. The purpose of evaluating the enablers of coordination and responsiveness was to make supply chain more effective to reduce the overall cost of the product. Different enablers of the coordination and responsiveness are identified and divided in six main groups which are Top management commitment (C1), Organizational factors (C2), Mutual understanding (C3), Flow of information (C4), Relationship & decision making (C5), Responsiveness (C6). Enablers are divided in six main groups for simplicity and using ISM approach interpretive structural model is developed. This interpretive structural model is further used in the Digraph approach to find out the index of coordination and responsiveness in supply chain.
