Community Issue: Pollution
Do you hate seeing rubbish in the street? My topic is all about pollution. Pollution is a problem in Hawaii because it cause health problems, water gets polluted by throwing of chemicals in river and other bodies of water and land gets polluted because of too much wastes from industry.
My first reason is because it can cause health problems. According to National Geographic, lung inflammation can develop when people are exposed to ongoing particulate air pollution some diseases that it can cause are asthma, lung cancer and heart attacks. “Recycle and prevent lung inflammation”. My second reason is because water gets polluted by throwing of chemicals in river and some other bodies of water by industries. According to National Geographic, a lot of water pollution is caused by factories near rivers and lakes doing illegal dumping. It also states that it hurts wildlife because the pollution will flow down the river hurting plants and animals. “Stop illegal dumping and save marine animals”. My third reason is because there is too much waste from industries. There are so many reasons and causes of land pollution. According to National Geographic, the major factors responsible for these problems are the pesticides, leaching or waste due to landfills, direct discharge from the industry, fuel dumping and oil dumping.
