Lenovo has been a member of the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) since June 2006, which promotes an industry code of conduct for global electronics supply chains to improve working and environmental conditions. As a member of EICC administration committee, Lenovo operations strictly meet EICC standards, including using EICC self-assessments and self-audit tools; learning from industry best practices; using standard and uniform approaches where possible; promoting changes within EICC framework. Moreover, Lenovo actively leads and asks for more supply partners to observe the rule in aspects of green logistics, hazardous substance control and so on. Lenovo’s suppliers and contractors on the assessment process, including: first, field trips, and its environmental management system and process control record; second, investigation of the supplier or contractor if the subcontractor compliance and meet environmental requirements of Lenovo; thirdly, requirements of its end-product introduction life, options, components and materials disposal.
