Chapter 1
INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of the Study
Mankind has always tried to use technologies in order to improve his life. The wheel, for instance, was invented in order to transport goods saving forces and to move more quickly. The discovery of fire helped to heat him and to defend himself from wild animals. From the very beginning man has always looked for a better way of life. Time after time, he has continued to improve his environment, both at work and at home. The first automations in fact were born in the factories, where at the end of the 19th century the first applications of electricity permitted to make some automated operations, without the intervention of human being. Slowly then there has been a shift from manual jobs to automated jobs, from simple tools relied to the ability of a person to process chains controlled by programmable controllers. That's why many jobs disappeared and new ones were born and others have completely been transformed. So automation is whatever permits to make a sequence of automated activities, often in a faster way. And this idea was born in the world of industry. Here in fact there was the need of helping the worker taking him away from repetitive and depressing jobs: as a consequence automated machines and technologies have been developed, so that the way of working in a factory completely changed and the manual factory became automated.

As stated above, we drew Automated Liquid Refilling System which is a system consisting of electronic components that are widely used for automatic filling process of any kinds of liquid. Thus when implemented, will optimize the productivity of goods and delivery of services. The correct incentive for applying these studies is to increase productivity and quality beyond the current human labour levels so as to realize the scope of industrialization which would lead to economic growth. Its functionality showcases a bottle filling process specifically; the curiosity leads us to come up with a system that is vital for this kind of operation. In a world where technology is undeniably uprising, mankind invents machinery which would be a great help for making things easier than we could possibly think. Making it work would be a great opportunity for industries to manage specific field of specialization. What industry needs for today is not only the manpower, but also the good functionality of automated control system which manufacturing made easy to rely with. It has a notable impact in a wide range of industries beyond manufacturing. Like once-ubiquitous telephone operators have been replaced largely by automated telephone switchboards and answering machines. Medical processes such as primary screening in electrocardiography or radiography and laboratory analysis of human genes, sera, cells, and tissues are carried out at much greater speed and accuracy by automated systems. Automated teller machines have reduced the need for bank visits to obtain cash and carry out transactions. In general, automation has been responsible for the shift in the world economy from industrial jobs to service jobs in the 20th and 21st centuries. The fact that the importance of technology in our daily basis is undeniable has inspired scientists to make improvements from time to time through their invented tools and devices for us to use, just to make our lives easier. We always tend to make one step ahead. Technology can help not just with the present but also approximating the future. It can calculate the potential profits and losses. And based on these, we can create plans and a list of pre-cautious steps for the future of our descendants. As present history enters into a new generation, industries and manufacturer also venture into newer systems, strategies, procedures and technology, in cooperation with man’s search for a better way of living the environment. Traditional ways were reinforced, restated and replaced, as new insights were accumulated and...
